Rookie Camp

St. Louis Park Hockey Association's Rookie Camp offers a fun and relaxed environment for players interested in starting skating and playing hockey.

This program is open to all new St. Louis Park Mite and Hopkins-Park Girls (K-3rd grade), alongside preschoolers who will be 4 years old before the start of camp.

No experience needed!

When: Every Monday and Wednesday in October

• Mondays: 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27 (30 minutes: 5:00-5:30pm or 5:30-6:00pm)
• Wednesdays: 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29 (1-hour: 5pm-6pm)

Where: St. Louis Park Rec Center - West Rink (3700 Monterey Dr)

What: Skating is the emphasis, but stick skills, pucks and small games are used to create a positive learning environment. Players will be grouped by age & experience.

Rookie Camp costs just $99!

What's Included:

• 1st year registration fee waived! (Up to $450 value)
• $100 voucher to put toward new equipment at Lettermen Sports
• 8 training sessions
• Professional instruction from SLPHA skills team & SLP Skate School

Additionally USA Hockey registration is required. Fees are by birth year:

• 2019 & Younger: $17
• 2017-2018: $56
• 2016: $69

What equipment does my player need to participate?

All players need a full set of equipment to skate in Rookie Camp. The Equipment Guide has details on required items, where to get them, and how to dress your child.

My player has never skated before. Can he/she still register?

Absolutely! This is the perfect way for new players to get started.

How does the Lettermen Sports voucher work?

Once registration is confirmed, participants will receive a $100 voucher to put toward hockey equipment at Lettermen Sports (locations in Plymouth or Blaine). In addition all new players can participate in the Lettermen Loot program which earns you up to 25% cash back (normally 20%) on all purchases. Learn more about Lettermen Loot.
