Peewee Program
Peewees are primarily made up of players in 6th and 7th grade.
Eligibility: open to all players born between 06/01/2011 - 05/31/2013* that live in and/or attend schools in St. Louis Park.
*athletes entering 6th grade with summer 2013 birthdays are also eligible. Please contact the Peewee Coordinator to discuss.
2024-2025 Teams: SLPHA will host Peewee B1 & C teams.
**Please note that there will be additional registration fees for the top Pee Wee teams to cover higher coaching staff and referee fees. You will have an opportunity to decline a top-team roster spot if you choose. The additional fees are as follows:
- Pee Wee A: $250
- Pee Wee B1: $150
player development
Athletes will receive 120+ hours of on-ice training over the course of the season. This includes games, 3 tournaments, team practices, and skills sessions. An end of season tournament in District 3 closes out the season. Teams participating at B1 or A will have an opportunity to play in Regions and possibly State.
The SLPHA Peewee Program builds off our Squirt Program. Practices will be age appropriate with continued focus on individual skill development and the addition of more team concepts and tactics. Players will continually be pushed to execute at a higher pace. On going body contact training with a focus on protecting and preventing injury.
Lastly an increased focus will be placed on habits and decision making:
- Offensive play with the puck
- Offensive play without the puck
- Defensive play on puck
- Defensive play away from the puck
Skills Coaches: Fortis Academy, SLP Skills staff, Attitude Goaltending and more will be involved throughout the season. All athletes will work with these coaches on a regular basis.

Season: Preseason skates start after Labor Day. The season starts at the beginning of October and goes through late February / early March.
